Greetings from the CC, a wonderful shot, the black bachground helps the viewer to focus their attn on the lighted area, I like that you only did one shoe, again forcing us to notice the detail here. The composition of the second shoe is well done, making for a relaxed posture supporting the 'old' title. The lighting too is very well done, it is soft yet not dark, no details are obscured by dark. My only small criticism (being that I am suppose to critique : )) would be the choice generally of 'boots' generally a non-emotional subject matter, I think in this challenge it works because it keeps the focus on the 'light' but I think it is always important consider the actual appeal and emotional impact potential of a subject. Again here I think a subtle subject helps viewer to focus, but just a thought.
Very well done technically, keep shooting!!

Greetings from the CC, I think the elements that help to make your photo are the bird and the lighting. The photo does seem to tilt, not sure if the horizon is actually crooked or if seems so because of the sand in the lower left to lower right edge. I believe cropping this section out, tho leaving the bird a little tight would serve to create a 1/3 2/3 image a bit more. It may also help the viewer not to want to tilt head so much to look at it. The bird the sun add a nice balance to the shot, they create a good tension. If the shutter speed was a little faster it may have helped to get a bit sharper waves. Overall a nice sunset shot.
Well done and happy shooting!

Great shot, by far the best in this challenge IMO! I love the snow on his chin, crossed paws, intent expression, not to mention the clarity and sharpness of moving animal, and even the snow is exposed perfectly.
