Negative Space Abstractby darcyComment: Greetings from the CC, well, I think your shot lacks wow, and emotion. I think it is somewhat flat. I understand you were trying to use negative space, but IMO the neg. space does not help to highlight or strengthen the overall shot. You will probably disagree, but just my suggestions, feel free to disregard it.
I think choice of subject is a hard decision to make as a fotog who wants to do something unique and yet perhaps appeal to a lot of people (or at least a variety of dpc voters)
keep shooting : ) |

Twinsby DefyTimeComment: Greetings from the CC, I respect that you created an artistic shot, the fill flash on the flower makes it pop, tho i wonder if you had taken a step backwards it may not have popped so much and created a more natural light? And may not of taken away from the focus point of the shot so much. Perhaps if the girls were bent down as if picking or smelling the flower it may have been more cohesive of a shot. i hope that you do not give up at trying to be creative, we need more of that on dpc just try to blend the elements of the shot as much as possible. My overall advice would be to have simplicity of subject.
hope it helps and happy shooting! |

Descentby BobsterLobsterComment: Greetings form the CC,
I love the clouds in this shot, and the strong diagonal line enhanced by the detail of the grass, I like how the kids are together yet apart displaying a comfortablitiy. I am unsure how i feel about the 'blue' while it is very strong and a nice shade of blue, it does not feel natural to me, but what do I know, the shot did very well. I would like to see it slightly less saturated or perhaps in b&w. A good shot, nicely done. Keep shooting. Hope this helps a little. |

Dawn To Dusk Passionby neilmwilsonComment: Greetings form the CC, good shot I think it may have been a bit stronger had the house been cropped out, focusing the viewers attn on the golfer and the tree, the 2 stronger elements in the pix. You may have wanted to leave the top of the tree in. The colors in the sky are however very nice. I like the club as a detail. The tree is a good anchor on the right. Overall a good shot. Nice done. Keep shooting. |

Mating Dance? by photomComment: Greetings from the CC, with a chuckle, I just complained in a thread about having to critique ribbon winning shots and my next shot is yours! LOL
Well, this is a beautiful shot, the golden tones, the fortune of the capture, 2 magnificient birds in flight. The thing that makes this shot for me is the emotional feel givn from the bird on the left which seems to be looking over to check how its mate is doing. I hope this helps a little, my complaint was that I find it hard to critique shots that are very well done. good work, keep clicking. |

blue eats blueby coolharComment: This is a great capture, I usually only see them eat very little fish which dont tend to show up in the shots
The lighting and fine detail feathers are very good here also, it looks slightly grainy, maybe is a lil oversharp, but the clarity and light on the eye and beak are very good.
Well done! |

Two Medicine Lakeby jodiecostonComment: This is a beautiful shot IMO, I like the foreground ice and how it is diagonal, and the mountain is of course spectacular, the combo for your combination works very nicely. Well done, in my top 5 for this challenge. |

Windfall at the Ritzby ellamayComment: The black squirrel is quite common in vancouver actually, the sependipity of this shot was all the squirrels, i was trying to lure him over with some bird seed, and he was edging towards me, but then this other family threw him this huge cracker. I wasn't trying for serendipity but when got home realized it was there. : )
thanks for the votes and glad i got to show many of you the rare cajuned squirrel : ) |

Thunder Storm in Dallasby DefyTimeComment: I would of cropped a bit more off the bottom, to just below the trees, but this is a great shot, way to make the lightening crackle behind 2 interesting buildings : ). |
