| 05/12/2004 02:48:57 PM | Strong AND Weakby MotoCycleBoiComment: She looks a little disgruntled about having to model--lol, just kidding, actually it is a wonderfully moody expression for the outfit, she sort of looks torn about this 'battle' . I think you manages to capture some emotion, very well done. From a more techincal standpoint I really wish the bright part on top could of been cropped somehow. (i know can't cuz of sword, but would of been nice if could of taken slightly different angle to remove that distraction) otherwise great job!! 9 | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 05/03/2004 09:42:13 PM | Better Lucky Than Goodby neilmwilsonComment: Greetings from the CC, I think this shot did poorly, partly because was a 'set up' shot many did not feel met challenge. But aside from that, it is a very busy shot, hard to know what to focus on IMO. The DOF is quite good. I think another thing to consider is subject. I think asking yourself if subject will appeal to a large number of people or not, is a good idea (that is not to say if you should not shoot the 'less popular' just don't expect to do well on dpc : )). Generally tho I think this shot would be well, (sorry to say) boring for most folks unless a golfer, I think if you are going to use ordinary subjects you need to find a way via lighting or repition or composition to make it 'wow'. What I would like to see more of find interesting is the coin and money clip tho not sure how they fit into the theme of golf. |
| 05/03/2004 07:47:03 PM | Nine Squaresby artvetComment: I like this image quite a bit, tho i would of liked to have seen it cropped tighter on the top or making the squares dead center as of now they are sort of oddly placed, IMO | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 04/29/2004 05:52:05 PM | Gas Lampby spydrComment: Greeitngs from the CC, I think choosing a subject is a hard decision. It is hard to balance availablity, and interest and meeting challenge. I think your choice of subject is a bit lacking, if you choose to shoot an ordinary subject you have to do something (IMO) to make the ordinary extraordinary, to make the viewer wow, or feel, of display a technique that is unique. I think you also suffered a bit with this shot because the main part of the shot, the white bulb coverings are not sil.s' which meeting the topic on dpc is important. Just some thoughts on subject choices really hope it helps a little and does not sound too harsh : ), keep shooting! |
