Excellent composition (that cloud is brilliant) but you've gone a bit overboard on the sharpening and it looks pixellated in places.

With a greater field of view this shot might have done better, but here it lacks sharpness and doesn't have enough interest. Having said that I do like the tones here.

I like this one a lot. The eye contact is great and although it's not the sharpest of images I think some subtle PP has brought out the detail very nicely. Good choice of border too.

This is going to bomb I'm afraid. The image is obviously taken with a very low quality camera (camera phone?) and the subject is completely blown out by the flash. Even without these flaws the shot isn't interesting enough to compete in a free study.

Gosh. With eye contact with the subject and better lighting this could have been absolutely exceptional. It's still a fascinating face to look at, though.

That is without question the strangest-looking spider I've ever seen. It's a well taken shot but I wonder whether you could have been more daring with the DOF, especially bearing in mind how busy the background is.

A great subject and a well composed photo. However, it isn't particularly sharp and the orange/red of the beat and the legs appears unnaturally saturated.

A lovely subject, sensibly composed and with a well-chosen border. However this isn't going to score highly because the image is too dark and the subject not sharp enough. I'm spotting noise artefacts around the top of the petals as well.
