Marblesby BeckyTComment: Though the detail in the marbles lends well to shallow DOF, the main marble seems a bit too central with the blank forground not adding much to the image. Bringing the marble formation down in the frame and adding a bit more light to the foremost marble I think would help a lot. |

Mouse in the Cereal Againby woodseyComment: Though the DOF seems to work, there doesn't seem to be enough separation between subject and background and the white balance seems off. |

ablazeby ursulaComment: I like the razor thin DOF with the sharp focus on the droplets however the base of the flower is also in focus and takes away from the overall effect of the image. The image may still work if that part were cropped out. |

Sony Style`by superscrub99Comment: Interesting idea however I think it would work better if an entire letter were in focus and the angle of view was more looking along the word. To me that would make for a more dynamic image. |

A dropby witamComment: I like the idea of high key and I think the amount of DOF is just right however the blown out area above the drop is very distracting. |

Down By The Riverby SaraRComment: Very nice DOF. I like how the background OOF goose balances the in focus goose. |

Grave Keeperby TaraWillComment: Good composition however the positioning of the DOF seems out of place since the knee of the gargoyle is out of focus and part of the platform is in focus. A slight shift of shooting position could possibly help with this. |

Clipby matchewComment: Good subject however I feel the DOF is too shallow since (based on the title) the subject is the latch. If the subject were the screw, then just a slight shift in position (to the left) would improve the image. |

Rusty Nailby doug61853Comment: Yes this is a shallow DOF challenge however I feel that the DOF chosen is too shallow since not even the entire head of the nail is in focus. |
