ice routeby clictacameraComment: Skating on the canal is always fun.
In brightly lit situations it's hard to get both the bright and dark areas exposed correctly. For basic editing the options to correct this in post processing are a bit limited. The highlights/shadow tool in photoshop CS helps a lot in these situations.
If the image wasn't for a basic editing challenge then you could take two images (one to expose the bright areas and one to expose the dark areas) then merge them in your editing software. |

Redby BAMartinComment: Even though it was a blah day, the colours really pop. |

Vanilla Swirlby TlemetryComment: B/W images can work very well with grain, however, in this case I think the choice of DOF is letting the image down (too shallow). |

Eyesby pepitoidComment: Very sweet though I'd like to see a touch more detail in the nose area. |

Mmmmm, Ice!by MelonMusketeerComment: Very clear shot but whatever is in the background makes it look like the parrot is wearing a wig. |

Iguanaby mistyblu0511Comment: We could better see the detail if the image were larger. Nice colour and light though. |

Misty Morningby KatheComment: I like the mood of this shot though I feel it's a little under exposed. |

Chasing Bubblesby SheryllComment: Love the high key effect on the child and the sense of joy in her expression. The background is a little cluttered though kept at bay slightly by the fence and the choice of dof. Good sense of motion too. |

Kid Voqueby susiComment: Maybe never used neat image, however all the detail has been processed out of the skin. This is the classic result of too much neat image. You seem to have come up with different processing which produces the same result. |

ski raceby cryanComment: Nice capture though a little underexposed as the snow looks grey rather than white. |
