The Flow of Color Under Iceby KivetComment: I like water effects like this. To me the ripples look like an animal of some sort riding the water from right to left with its mouth open. There is a very clear white area that looks like an eye due to the black spot it contains.
I didn't vote on this challenge though can see the low votes related more to the challenge topic rather than the quality of the image. |

IMG_2674.jpgby Rando D300Comment: The blurry green head doesn't really bother me but what I find funny are the duck feet under the fence. |

blue sky above a hillby eirasiComment: Great light however I think the image is let down by the lack of dynamic cloud cover. Good use of a low horizon though. |

Hey Wilberby ShaneBlakeComment: The bokeh on this one is lovely. My only suggestion for improvement is to have crop straight up the middle of the horse's head. Other than that, wonderful shot. |

Cat in Lockerby sarnComment: A cat in a locker isn't really that odd. Cat's will investigate anything and everything.
The cat looks very content.
Compositionally the dark area does not add to the image. I think cropping it out would balance the image better. |

Water of glassby nagymelisComment: *** Critique Club ***
First impressions: Nice subdued colours and fairly good placement of the main water droplet. The image seems out of focus.
Composition:
What works: -- The water droplet is placed at or near one of the points for rule of thirds. -- The ripple to the left of the drop goes off on a diagonal which makes the image more dynamic
What doesn't work: The crop feels very tight all the way around.
Exposure:
For the most part the exposure seems right with only a few hot spots.
Impact: Most of the impact seems to be achieved from the diagonal placement of the ripples. I think the ripples could be placed more on the diagonal for more impact. More impact would also be achieved if the image were sharper.
Keep shooting.

Seasons Changeby SDWComment: I think it's a good idea however you may have too many small coloured areas and the angles you have them at don't seem to flow very well. Making them bigger and having fewer of them may help.

Cincinnati at Duskby jpetersComment: Interesting layout and wonderful colours in the reflections. I think the bottom of the first image is not high enough. To me it's just a little to close to the bottom of the third giving the impression of being sloppy rather than intentional. The current crop probably wouldn't lend itself to changing that though. |

Duck Underby A VaryaComment: Ducks can be quite funny. There's always one that's not cooperating (with the photographer that is). Message edited by author 2005-11-17 21:05:33. |

Flying Shadowby A VaryaComment: I like the dynamics in this photo. This might work as part of a series of images of just shadows. Maybe a triptych as in one of the current challenges. |
