Good timing and lighting. I love the silhouette and I think it was a good choice with the wide format plus the top/bottom frame because you captured a scene that is very wide with little negative space.

Excellent capture of some very heavy snowfall, narrowing in on a purple martin house, trees and grass laden with several inches of snow as a microcosm of the area.

I'm guessing this is the aftermath of a civil war re-enactment and the black grass is where the soldiers were standing. Interesting lines all leading to the back from the fence, grass edge and black patch. Nice composition.

I wish you had used the 720 pixels you were allowed instead of 300 so we could see her better. Check the tutorial on saving for DPC. I like the fence or whatever is in front of her. Cropping more to fill the frame with her face with some blue above and below would have been good, provided you didn't crop it even smaller. I'm afraid many people will be voting this very low only because of the size. That's unfortunate.
