The old asylumby ShutterPugComment: I am amazed this photo didn't place higher - it fits the challenge perfectly and really stood out over many of the rest. If it was up to me, this would have placed on the front page. Excellent work! |

Still Life with Acidby Yo_SpiffComment: Hmmm .. I thought this would place much higher .. it tells a story which many of the photos didn't .. at least to me .. I like your pping .. it shows am understanding of just how far to push it before it loses an authentic look. |

Lost to the Weedsby davidwComment: What a wonderful find. The textures are amazing and the composition is strong. I gave you a 9 and would have given you a 10 but found it just a smidgen too light on the left - if it had been filled with shadows it would have made it even more compelling. However, that is a small quibble. |

Nature's Reclaimby jagarComment: I voted earlier - and I gave you a 9 .. the moss covered rocks are echoed in what is left of the roof .. the dappled sunlight peeking here and there through the trees contributes to the magical feeling this photo conjures up in my mind. The ivy growing up the tree looks like it is reaching for the remains of the roof to continue the reclamation. This is one of the times when you don't need DOF to succeed because everything is in perfect focus. Excellent pping work that you didn't take to extremes. I have to give it one more gentle bump and then I can go no further :) |

Moodby BrinComment: I voted earlier - one of my 9's .. the sky contrasts so well with the grass ... the chimney is so unique and I get the feeling that there is water behind the house even though there is none to see. I like how you photographed it from beneath .. like you are walking up a hill and came across such a wonderful place. |

Inlet Boathouseby dhphotographyComment: I voted earlier - I kept coming back to this photo so many times and bumping it. Finally there was no more bumping as I got to 10. The story is so strong and resonates some place within that I don't even remember - but it is familiar. This shot made me ask myself so many questions - the wood looks strong so how did it end up in the water... I can't see where it might have slipped down to the water..did the river/water flood and knock it off it's foundation - I love the reflections in the water that is filled with floating bits - thank you for the story. |
