Interesting, beautiful light, great focus, fab textures - a nice glimpse with a feeling of motion in it created by the different steps the folks are on. Very, very well done.

I love it when I come across a sky like this - you captured it beautifully and with your framing made it even more dramatic - like others have commented, maybe crop it on the bottom .. might be interesting playing with the levels on this shot too but it's magnificent and shows just what a show nature can put on.

Ohh this is so nice - love that most of the leaves are in focus .. the snow is the proper garnishment for such an eye feast as this.

Love these little critters and how he knows your there .. as another has mentioned, a bot more light on the squirrel would have been nice - especially if you caught a light in his.her eyes - but a delightful photo.

wow, what a treat - for a second as the shot was loading, I thought they had fallen into cement - I soon realized they were sculptures - great job lighting them and getting the whole (very interesting) scene into focus. Very well done.

Wildlife the real deal) photography is not for the impatient - I totally agree with your remark that including the birds natural environment add so much to the shot .. Great job not blowing out the highlights on the beak and I love the saturated colors of the flora and fauna in this shot.
It's so exciting to get a shot of a hard to capture bird and it's perfect acceptable to have less than perfect technique when getting such a unique capture as this so you must be over the moon happy that your technical applications are so strong.
Congratulations!

I love a photo that tells a good story and you really succeeded with this one. As others have commented on, the light is wonderful - you can't beat natural lighting to create mood.

Oh I love this shot - there is such a strong story in it .. the way one set of tracks veer off .. like being at a crossroads and wondering which road to take .. I love the ripples in the tracks themselves - how many trains rolled over them and where do they lead .. I really like that you kept it so dark too .. adds to the mystery and it makes the textures and patterns even more interesting - in the top right hand of the photo there appears to be some sort of support system - now what did that hold up I wonder - or are they still in use. Thank you for the wonderful story that is being created in my mind.

I like this crop a lot more. The bird has more space to fly in to and the bottom part of the first edit didn't catch my interest, actually took away from the shot (from my point of view). To me the horizon isn't defined, as it would be if it was a sky line, so I don't see this shot as not being straight. Having more room at the top of his wings is also a better composition IMO.
Came back to state that while I feel this is a better crop for the stated reasons, it's less crisp and wouldn't do as well if it was used for an illustration in a book. I don't know if you could sharpen it more without it looking over-sharpened.
