Ha - thought it was real people from the thumb.

Interesting what people's opinions are about this image. I personally think I'd like to see *more* of the right side of the image. The statue leads into the right side of the image nicely. But then I'd like to see more of the living....

Pretty neat. The (real) lady ahead of the queue has finally made it through and shrugged off the statue-like attire of her followers...

Wow! I'd be hoping not to get a seat near THEM! They look like they have been living rough, LOL.
I am also one of the opinion that the right hand portion of the shot contributes a great deal.

This is a fun shot (great choice of topic actually, I've been thinking "your daily commute" would make a fun challenge - but I digress)

I actually disagree with the first two comments, for me cropping the people out would ruin it. The exposure's spot on and you have some wonderful tones in your B&W conversion. Love it.

Grabbed some great tones there, b&w definitely the best.

wow, what a treat - for a second as the shot was loading, I thought they had fallen into cement - I soon realized they were sculptures - great job lighting them and getting the whole (very interesting) scene into focus. Very well done.

Cool statues and I like the way you have used them to lead the eye into the scene. Interesting theme - you must commute and carry your/a camera :) Good idea.

Thanks Ursula. No, these are indoors and the Port Authority of NY probably wouldn't allow such addons anyway. However there is another outdoor grouping nearby at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey, where winter accessories are permitted and often appear.

Terrific image! The composition works well for me too. I really like the deep blacks you have achieved. This would work well in current The Arts challenge.

Interesting Theme choice :) I really like the b/w tones. The statues are great leading lines because they lead you into the photo to look around at all the real people.

I would agree on the overall composition and the importance of the "real" people. If anything, the distance between the statue and the people is a bit large.

I feel that the people are animportant part of the image, they lead the eye in and make sense of the statue group.

Interesting, I like the crop as is. The statues play an interesting role with the person standing with her back to us. As if they were waiting for her to make the next move. If anything, I might try to clone the person walking down the stairs. I like this photograph for capturing that moment that makes sense.

Have the same feeling, a crop just to get rid of the right half of the image (with the people in it). I like the B&W.

ok this is the first one that the thumbnail led me to open, so that's saying something, right? i like it, but i keep looking at the composition thinking a different crop might work better.
