No reprieve.by millerComment: Very nice attempt. I think the focussing needs to be sharper on the foreground (lhs) |

Lost Identity!by tjpierreComment: Did you try this in landscape? I think at least you needed to crop off the distracting line at the top. Nice contrast of textures. |

Broadbarred Firefish (has venomous spines)by JeanComment: Yeah, but they're only really dangerous at dusk ;) These are very, very tricky to photograph and this is pretty good. I was about to put that the eye wasn't sharp but of course that's the false eye spot and the eye is nice and sharp (but well camouflaged). I'm afraid it just doesn't say "fear" to me - now if it was a Titan triggerfish... |

Deathby chariotComment: Could do with a little more lighting on the front. A tin foil reflector would have lifted thje shadows. |

Dollhead's Revengeby jgillComment: Get in closer! The subject is occupying no more than 20% of the frame. It's good to have context but I think this is too much. |

Caught in the Headlightsby samwiseComment: Cunning! I'm guessing this was done by zooming the lens during exposure? Gives an almosr surreal image - if the front of the car hadn't gone transparent then this would have been very scary! |

Chicken of the Seaby karen_vComment: Looks like this was taken through the glass at an aquarium - that's not fear - get in there! The fish on the rhs is rather distracting especially because it's cut oiff. It might have helped to white balance off the sand/shark's lower body. Even though the water is fairly shallow, it absorbs red light much faster than blue which makes the colours washed out and a little greenish. Nice and sharp on the shark's eye - wish we could see more of the teeth. |
