It is unexpected and adds drama to the subject Often, people shoot rusted out old cars in the blinding light of the afternoon and then, quite predictably convert to b&w,usually with a sepia cast. This is quite a refreshing take on a popular subject. |

My Favorite Bookmarkby Morry32Comment: This is so unoriginal by now I don't know how to rate it....I'm very tired of this image on DPC. Can we please retire it once and for all????? I can see someone maybe wanting to reproduce it as a practical exercise but must it keep popping up in challenges. Does originality count for nothing? |

Surrounded by shadowsby Ragga2000Comment: I'm not getting a sense of the shadows that are supposedly surrounding this child. Does the title refer to the shaded woods? It is a nice portrait but shadows aren't the main visual impact. The connection to the challenge is pretty tenuous, IMO. |

The death of a beatiful flowerby DjabordjaborComment: Very well done. The subject doesn't really make much of an impact on me, though. There isn't a real emotional connection for me in a contrived set-up like this --- it doesn't have any kind of connection to the human experience or any natural experience for that matter. Others will probably love it though. |
