This is a really cute idea. The child's legs dangling high above mom's are precious. The photo is lacking a bit in terms of quality. I think this might be a case were black and white would have worked best. I'm kind of distracted by the cheesy garland in the background, especially because this is clearly not a wintery place. It adds a jarring element to what could be a very universal image.

I'm sorry, without the title I really don't get the sense of "Mother" from this portrait. She looks very nice but what is going on to indicate motherliness? The photo should say it without the title, IMO.

This is eyecatching. I'm wondering if it wouldn't have been more effective without the crane. To me, the crane adds a confusing element to an otherwise harmonious pattern of converging lines.

An original choice of subject and I love the vintage patterns (I collect them myself). Unfortunately, this is way too shadowy to be really effective.

Is this sepia tone? There is a yellowish cast that I don't like for this subject. This is a good choice for pattern (I tried a few shots with a colander myself but ultimately discarded them :D). I don't know if this shot says much to me about pattern. I think a tighter crop of just the mashing part would be more effective.

This is a crative and interesting effort. It doesn't quite gel for me and the reason is the drab brown building just isn't an attractive backdrop for the white snow flakes. I would have liked this better if the background had been deep black or something colorful.

I like the contrasty black and white. This is a nice crop, effectively isolating the pattern from any distracting elements. It's also a great subject. One of my favorites so far.

Colour and form

Nice abstractions and texture. I wish there was more detail in shadow areas and I don't care for the glare on the upper left area of the frame. Also, it needs a bit more color saturation.
