Bird sitting on a feeder. Do birds even have to worry about feeding babies in winter time? Is this a part of the country where it is summer instead of winter? Anyway, this looks like shameless shoehorning to me and doesn't say anything to me about motherhood. It is a nice bird photo though.

Very cute and appealing. I like the natural composition quite a bit. This doesn't even look too much like a set-up. I have three kids three years apart and I've been here.

The subjects are a little to close to the background which is why there is that deep shadow behind the boy's head and the mom's ear. Her blinding white scrunchy is a bit distracting to me. The overall composition is good.

Looks like shoehorning to fit the challenge to me. This could be quite a bit sharper, IMO. The one to the right of the frame appears to be dead.

You got in nice and close which is good for this type of shot. My issues are with the boy's expression which has an odd fixed appearance which I suspect has to do with front flash lighting. Grandma appears to be squinting.

Great shot. I like that you paid attention to their clothing they wore for this shot. Very simple. I love that they are in their stocking feet.

I'm sorry but without the title this says nothing to *me* about motherhood. The theme of the challenge should be recognizable without a title, in my opinion. You know this to be your mother but from the subect's distance from the lens I find it hard to tell if this is a man or a woman let alone a mother. This says more to me about solitude or mankinds' puniness in relationship to his natural enviroment than motherhood. Outside the confines of the challenge I enjoy this photo quite a bit. It shows a good eye for composition and I like that you can't tell the gender of the solitary figure in the distance. This makes it very universal (outside the challenge theme, of course).

Nice idea. The brightly printed napkin is uneccessary to the idea and very distracting. I think mom's smile should be more in focus then the cookies.
