In Flightby laineebugComment: Cool capure of an interesting subject (not one I see everyday, anyway). A bit lacking in sharpness and clarity of detail for me. |

Watchful Eyeby shelw128Comment: Sweet, colorful subject. Nice composition. The focus is lacking, sadly. |

Pachydermby SinkyComment: Appealing subject and nice tight crop. It's a bit contrasty for me and I'd like to see her eye. |

Hazards of Living Wildby TwylaComment: Very dramatic subject. Didn't you have more time to make sure of your focus though? This just doesn't look sharp to me. In fact, it kind of looks point-and-shoot, as if not much consideration went into the compostion beyond documenting the scene. |

Having a Stretchby jan5500Comment: This needs a tighter crop, and probably a different angle of view, to draw more focus to the main subject. There are a lot of distractions---the duck at the right edge, the gull which we can see through the space b/w the duck's head and wing, and the gull that we can see peering at us just below the duck's left wing. |

Charlotte's Webby gliphixComment: I like the bit of sparkle from the web and the rainbow. The spider gets a bit lost in this large expanse of mostly empty space. |

Old and Newby MidnightSunsetComment: What am I looking at? I don't see any wildlife here. Plants aren't what come to mind when I think of wildlife (I would say plantlife, rather). At any rate, the challenge specified mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. In terms of the overall quality of the photo it is a nice effort but could stand improvement. There really isn't a strong focal point. By the title I understand it is meant to contrast the rotting log with the sprigs of grass growing on it. Without the title to clue me in, the tiny grass just doesn't make a strong enough contrast to the log to make a strong visual statement. There is too much surrounding detail to distract, even from the log. What is needed for this type of image is a macro shot (or at least as close as your camera will allow) of one of the tiny blades of grass that includes enough detail about the log to give the idea but no so much that the grass becomes lost in its surroundings. |

Possumby whatdewucComment: Very funny expression on the 'possum. It looks a bit blown out around his face and perhaps less sharp than could be desired. Not an easy capture at this light level, I imagine. |

Pandaby vincebComment: Cute subject. The details in his face look a bit fuzzy for me. |
