Pollen Cone After the Rainby RolandBComment: I find this unpleasant. It's an unique approach to the challenge though. A bit too much glare in the water.
edited after votingUpon reading the other comments and actually reading the title, I realize that the object in the water is not in fact a cooked chicken wing, which I swear I thought it was. It still looks like that to me but I thought I should clarify why I thought the image was unpleasant. :D Message edited by author 2006-04-03 11:30:16. |

Pavement Artistby e301Comment: Interesting approach to the challenge. A bit busy though. My eye is drawn more toward the iron fence in the background which leads me to the boring buildings beyond it. I feel like the reflection should be the focal point but it has to compete to much with the busy background. |

swansby cll300661Comment: A bit ho-hum. The water has to much glare I think. Sometimes, stopping down your exposure can help with this, if you don't have a neutral density or polarizing filter (it's what I do with my dinky camera). |

Soul Thirstby ZoomdakComment: I like how the man in the foreground as color contrast and scale to the waterfall. |

Candy Surpriseby annahComment: This is really sophisticated. I could see this as a Valentine card (you should consider trying to sell it to a greeting card company, actually, but first clone out the shadow). I didn't vote in this challenge but this would very likely have been my top pick. Once again, I find myself humbled by a young'un. ;D |

My and Mr. Allen with shoes in Oviedo (Spain)by lulomaComment: I like the photo but shoes aren't the focal point at all. What draws my notice in this image is the way the man's attire and casual, hands in pocket slouchiness echo the statue of Woody Allen. I don't see how shoes play an important part in this composition at all. Good photo, but IMO, DNMC. |

Peanut Butter & Jellies??by Qwest30Comment: This is one of those set-ups that has only one function--meeting the challenge. While this is a photo of shoes, and there is some creativity behind the idea, ultimately, it is the type of shot that has no place outside the very narrow confines of this one challenge. This type of photograph doesn't seem to consider asthetic values at all. Why would someone actually want to view this photograph? I'm not asking this to be sarcastic. This is something every member should ask themselves before submitting to any challenge. |

Swinging Shoesby buddybuddy1226Comment: A bit out of focus. I think with a composition like this, you could have included the whole figure and still made the shoes a major focal point. This just looks chopped off. |

why won't they fit me?by xXxscarletxXxComment: The direct flash gives this a harsh appearance. The subject, a young girl, wearing pink, against a pink background, calls for much softer lighting. |
