shuttlecock and racketsby lizbeth010Comment: This is a very busy looking macro because of the grass poking through the racquet netting. The overhead lighting is very flat, washing out a lot of the detail and color. The hot spot running along the edge of the racquet detracts. The red, white and blue scheme would have worked better without the green grass. You should have eliminated the other racquet that appears at the corner of the frame. It does not add to the idea but is distracting to the eye. |

Championship Ringsby Kha0SComment: This is not a favorite subject for me and this view fails to show it in a new or interesting way. The mundane car in the background and the ceiling detract quite a bit. |

Blades of Steelby Toby-DogComment: I'm not seeing any blades here. I really can't tell what the subject is from this photo. Perhaps a hockey skate turned upside down? It just isn't clear enough what the subject is. All I see is plastic, rivets, and some upside-down letters with a very bright light flare at the edge of the frame. It doesn't work as an abstract for me because there isn't any real wow factor in this shape or the negative space it creates. |

Emily's Trophiesby bobdaveantComment: This subject doesn't have universal appeal. Emily and her family might find it a subject they would want to go back to more than once but for the casual viewer it is fairly mundane. The other problem is several sports are represented here. You need a more unified theme. Perhaps if you had showcased a single trophy with an item of paraphanalia from the sport and used dramatic lighting and a simple background you might have a good still-life with broader appeal. |

Team playersby neehaiComment: What team sport is played with dice? And what does the spring represent? Am I missing something? I don't recognize the non-US flag. My daughter thinks its Australia. Could it have to do with yaghting? Forgive me for my ignorance on this. Flags aren't something I pay much attention to.
As a still-life it has problems. The downward tilt leaves the impression that the obects are in danger of sliding out of the frame. The chrome background is distracting. |

Grand Prix Team Raceby yamahondamomComment: Cool shot but I can see the competitors. How does this show team sports without the players? It fails to meet the challenge. |

Across the Generationsby HifiComment: This might be a good photo but it is too hard to tell from this tiny image. Please use the 640 pixel limit you are allowed so that we can see the details of your photos in the future. d |

Before Football Players Wore Armourby theSajComment: This doesn't really say anything about sports. Your title is confusing. I think you mean football players used to wear armour, in reference to medieval games, but the wording actually suggest that football players wear armour *now* but this is what they used to wear. At any rate, nice try but I don't think this meets the challenge. As a still-life the subject is interesting but the composition adn the flat overhead lighting don't show it in an appealing way. The gauntlets look a bit out of focus. |

Go Catchby ChefbozComment: This is a mundane subject that is difficult to make interesting. This is a nice try; the background is simple but the lighting is rather flat and harsh. d |

Which Way's the Band?by fredluvsHimComment: Those white uniform shoes make a very boring subject. Isn't there a colorful hat or jacket that goes with a band uniform that you could have shown instead? The trombone is a much more interesting subject but it is obscured by the shoes. dddddd |
