Nature Reservedby sacredspiritComment: This seems to be more about the lightning and sillouhette than shadow. I don't really see a sillouhetted object as being the same as cast shadows. I guess that is nitpicky but this just doesn't work for me for this challenge. |

Double Helix by jdannelsComment: Very nice. I would have cropped or cloned out the lamp and the gulls though. They really detract. |

tag.... you're it!by margiemuComment: I think the capture of the shadow is very interesting. I might have taken this further and cropped for just the shadows, eliminating the chidren, or maybe just included their feet and legs. I really dislike the dirt backgroundIt's very distracting. |

Bench Shadow Studyby jerseyjimComment: I like the balance of negative and postive space in this. This shows thoughtful observation to me. Nice. |

Meby redpandaComment: Hmmm...this kind of has the feel of a desperation entry to me. Maybe if you had managed to capture just the shadow without the feet...it just looks kind of hasty and not particularly well-considered. It just doesn't make an impact on me. |

Shadows, color and textureby AndrewTOComment: I like the color a lot. I'm not too sure if the rest is quite gelling for me as a creative visual statement. I think I would like this better [iwithouti] the shadows actually. The shadow create more distraction then asthetic appeal for me. |

Shadow Of A Doubtby GeneralEComment: Clever...I'm not really seeing this as a photograph though. It looks more like digital art or design to me. |

Scarf Portrait No.3by melismaticaComment: It's not my favorite either but I kind of liked the weird quality of it. I cropped it strangely because I didn't like the way the lower half of my face looked (vanity, Thy name is woman). Also, I'm a bit cross-eyed in this one and I figured the goofy crop might make that less obvious. I probably should just scrap it. I liked the rich color of the scarf contrasting with the black in this one. I think that was a big part of my choosing this shot. |

Scarf Portrait No.2by melismaticaComment: I agree that this one isn't as sharp as it could be. There isn't quite enough sparkle in the eyes for me. I'm not very handy at PhotoShop. I can never quite figure out how the sharp filters work. One of these days I'll take a class. I'm getting a new laptop---maybe that will be a good exuse to take a class since I'll finally be upgrading to PhotoShop Elements (these days I'm using 4.0.1 believe it or not!). |
