IMG_9502 copy.jpgby CaseyAllenComment: I might have had her head not tilted so much and her eyes looking more up towards you - looks way sexier that way if that is what you were going for with the shot as it is it seems more like an inquisitive/unsure look as she is looking out the side of her eyes. There is a guy on another site i am part of who nails this type of shot. Check out his gallery for some inspiration along those lines: Link
Obviously some of his shots are more "glamour" but the poses are great. Message edited by author 2008-02-11 10:00:59. |

Obsolete?by cheekymunkyComment: wonder how many bible bashers will crit this / vote low? :) Nice shot - could be a tad brighter in the midtones, but apart from that a strong entry. |

The Clowns Jewels!by hicksComment: so no real creative image concept to interest or speak to me, except the intended pun in the title. Try using desk lamps rather than the onboard flash to light this "product shot" style image, the lighting will really help give the shot some impact if you blow out the background and light the subject from the sides. Centre placement also doesnt do this image any favours, nor does the fact that the "Jewels" arent really given as much pride of place that the title suggests.
Just trying to help you with my thoughts on why i scored this low. |

Little clownby rema15Comment: Using on-board flash is an unforgivable sin in my opinion when doing portraiture. Not only does it flatten all the features, but when used with the subject close to any background you get the horrible sharp shadow haloing the subject.
When looking at this shot, it seems there was no effort put in: pair of joke glasses, kid, lie on floor, take picture with off-centre composition without thought for lighting. There isnt any impact here.
