cup of dreamsby prosachinComment: You did just fine for your first entry.
I'm new to submitting myself.
=P
If your camera has a screen on the back of it, look at the screen and keep backing up/moving closer to the cup until the cup looks clear and sharp. Make sure it's set to Macro (the flower symbol) to keep it sharp. It's okay if the background looks blurry. In fact, it's a good thing when shooting a shot like this. It makes the cup clearer. Using a self timer (it kind of looks like a Q) will eliminate the blurriness caused by holding the camera in your hand. Set the camera on a book or two and set the self timer, keeping the focus in mind.
See if it looks any better.
I mean no harm. Just trying to help.
I hope to see more from you.

The Big Bang by DUCATISTAComment: This was one of the few tens I cast during the challenge.
I am very happy that it ribboned.
Fantastic image.
Great idea using the balloon.
It looks much better. I didn't even know it was a balloon.
After all, it's still a latex bubble.
=P
Anywho, congrats!
You very much deserve it.

Keep out of reach of childrenby Beautiful-JoeComment: Originally posted by RPvanderHilst: I find it annoying that the surroundings are only just out of focus, instead of either in focus or totally unsharp. However, that IS original :P |
That was due to my laziness mostly, so I couldn't blame you for voting me down on that. XD
Originally posted by star155: I like the concept, it would be better with a background that relates. For example, a bar or high counter top. |
I chose this background because as you can see, the distortion of the deck and the lattice show inside the glass. I found them the most interesting pattern, but I understand what you're saying.
Originally posted by Shaman: I find the background here very distracting. great colour in the liquid, tho. In a dark studio set-up, using the same upwards angle and lighting on the glass, this would have been a 7 or 8. now 5 |
As I said above, in a different setting the distorted patterns wouldn't be there, and that was what I was mainly focusing on.
