The whole truth...by StevePaxComment: I would have liked a little more contrast or better focus on the arm, to make it stand out from the wall. As it is, the photo looks a bit flat. And with the title, I would have liked to see the hand - its sort of intrinsic to the gesture of taking an oath. Nice idea for the challenge. |

Broken Homeby NazgulComment: Very cool. Excellent use of the theme. Was that lone cloud in there on purpose? I like it, it adds to the mood. |

Reflectionby coloradatxComment: Great catch. The right angles work great here, not only do the strength of the lines in the building itself work, but they create the nice opposing angles in the reflection, increasing that strength. Two nit-picks: its got quite a bit of compression artifacts - the image is less than 50k, so don't compress so much next time (or was bandwidth an issue?); and it could have been cropped maybe a degree or so to the right. But those are minor points. Nice work. |

Holding On.... by buzzrockComment: Dude, way to go!!! I'm sad to say I didn't finish voting, so I wasn't able to contribute to your win, but it's an awesome shot. All your hard work has paid off - you've finally broken into the big time. Congratulations.
Oh, and was this with or without the macro lens??? ;-) |

Left Behindby SonifoComment: At last! I've been through at least 30 shots so far, and this is the first one that "recreates a scene". I haven't seen the movie, so I don't know how faithfully - no pun inteded - the scene was recreated, but at least you conveyed the escence of the plot, and put some effort into it. Nice job. Not sure about the B&W, just because I assume the movie was in color. Sorry, can't vote, but I would have given this an 8. |

Clockwork Orange Stereogramby JPRComment: You should have passed on the 3d gimmick (especially since, to the best of my recollection, this wasn't a 3d movie). This could have been one of the top shots without it. (Non-voting non-member) |

The Right to Bear Armsby kebmod54Comment: An OK picture. The lighting is a bit of a problem. The rifles aren't aligned - the top one tilts towards you, the middle wone is sort of centered and the bottome one tilts back. This gives it a bit of a messy, unballanced feel, and causes the inconsistent lighting between the three. B&W works well, and composition is good. You had some resizing jaggies - try resizing in steps (10% at a time) - it usulally helps. "The Right To Bear Arms" seems more a principle, or maybe an institiution, than a trend. If there were a trend, it would be towards gun control - that's where the left has tried to move the country for the last several decades. The right to bear arms is established law. |

Building Material Trendsby mzanoniComment: Don't know if you wanted it that way, but you are allowed to crop out the canvas area after rotating. I really don't get where this fits a trend - the lines moving away? Or is it the use of metal in buildings? Technically a pretty nice photo - colors and lighting are very nice, good focus and sharpness. The lines are sort of interesting. |
