Life Is A Blur On The Road Of The Universeby xhossComment: You're picture is *way* over compressed, which mars an otherwise interesting idea. Your image is only 14k - it can be up to 150k. Use as much of that space as you can. Beyond that... An interesting idea, pulled off reasonably well. Normally, I'd say the moon was over-exposed, but it works for effect here. The lights - that's a tough call. The fact that they aren't straight bothers me at first, but I suppose it could have the effect of showing some depth - maybe getting the car moving away down the road would have worked even better. I'll give it a 5 - interesting concept that could have been done better. |

Photosynthesisby zeuszenComment: Hmmm... I'll have to think about this one and come back. A 6 for now - like the colors... |

American's Lifeby kenedfComment: Really mean-spirited, uncalled for, and has nothing to do with "your interpretation of life". Oh, and never mind that it's poorly lit, badly out of focus, extremely noisy, and full of compression artifacts. I'll give you an extra point for an interesting composition of your offensive subject matter. |

My Hole In Oneby GolferDDSComment: I don't think so! ;) Funny. I assume that's the trail of the ball from the right? I wonder how many people will see it. |

Surfers at Pacific Beach CAby stuartComment: Looks like you got the same vantage point as I did! I was just about 20 miles farther north. :) Nice shot. Like the effect of the late afternoon sun - though it did cause the surfers to be a bit dark. I was having similar trouble, and was able to use the Curves in PS to fix the results. If you're interested in the web site I used as a tutorial for this process, send me a message.
One other thought: I think two things might have improved the composition - cut off the top 10% or so of the shot where its just wash - that's just visual noise that doesn't contribute to the "motion" of the image, which comes in part with the crest of the wave that starts below that. Second, and for similar reasons, I think a landscape format would have worked a little better. As captured/cropped, the movement of the surfers and wave feel a little constrained by being so close to the edge of the image. |

Freedom of Thought - giving it a chanceby jjbeguinComment: Great idea. The photos a bit so-so though. I think it's mainly in the composition - it's a little too centered. Maybe tighter on the TV and satelite dish, with just enough of the garbage can to recognize what it is, would have been a little more interesting, visually. |

Freedom should not come at a priceby jonpinkComment: A thoughtful contrast of a hopeful title with a grim reality. Though someone should figure out a better representation for blood and share it with everyone - the tomato sauce sort of gives a sort of mock quality to an otherwise serious message. Framing and composition are good, though lighting and focus are a bit off. The grainyness works OK though with the subject matter. |

Free Indeed!by GraciousComment: Awsome choice of scriptures - particularly verse 14. Nice idea and composition. Would have been nice if the blacks were a little blacker - as it is, the text isn't as crisp and strong as it could be. But other than that, good job. |
