Very simple, very effective. Clever colour choice/lighting to enhance the emotional impact and the idea of the heart as negative space makes the shot. Also proves that having a clearly defined object is not a barrier in an abstract challenge. 9.

Lost Soul

You're breaking my heart on this one. This is a gorgeous animal portrait, beautiful expression, delicate lighting that works brilliantly in black and white and the contrast between the silky hair and the roughness of the background is just fantastic. In a free study it would be an instant 10, but I'm just struggling with the abstract angle on the shot as it the very directness of the image that gives it it's power.

But ignore me and this challenge - for crying out loud just get this into a major exhibition, get it published, just get it out there where it deserves to be.
