people with umbrellas (b&w 2008 #8)by nikolaosComment: Originally posted by Mephisto: very nice tones and atmosphere in this shot and i like, that you can only see the backs of all people in this picture (or do i see a man just left of the latern walking towards you?)
btw how do you like the zeiss 50 1.4?
i'm looking into buying a fast 50mm lens soon, and i've heard good things about that lens, the only thing that hinders me of getting it immediately is its price... |
Well about the price, a friend of mine bought it from b&h in new york and with the current exchange rate (and the insane difference in camera/lens pricing between us & europe) it cost me about 50euro more that then nikon (although i could still by the nikon at half the price :) )
I do like the lens. at first I thought I'd have a problem with manual focus (compared to the nikon 85 1.8) but it's much more easier than that. the focus ring rotates more than 200* (more than half a round anyway) with marks from .45m to 10m & inf compared to just 90* of the Nikon 85. I've not run at test (never do) just some shots at some text in different apertures and I liked the result :)
Another tricky thing is the aperture ring which rotates at a half stop increments but the aperture display in the body (d200) only shows full stop increments and I don't know if it's just a display thing or it just rounds it up at a full stop (probably should shoot some tests on this but I have a thing about full stop apertures so I haven't tried it yet).
Other than that the body is solid build, all metal and the provided hood has a material similar to that of the interior of the body which collects dust to protect the lens itself. Little things, I know, but all else I think you can find them in the online reviews. If you want to ask anything else just pm.
Oh, yeah .. there's a guy at the back walking towards me :)

color images by ralphComment: The bare trees and the fog always make a good combination. Good composition also. |

April's Fogby AlainComment: Lovely black & white. The far left is a little bit cluttered imo the tow big trees bring a little unbalance compared to the other smaller trees in the right. |

Death & Laundryby muur88Comment: I can't stop looking at this .. they all seem to have been "placed" in their positions and they all look a little cartoonish (not in a bad way - just the way that they are presented). Just a little amazed. Anyway, see you.
