Close Encountersby BLEEComment: Wow! Fantastic macro shot... I like the composition, as well. The focus seems a bit soft where I would expect it to be a bit sharper if the DOF were centered on the caterpillar. --8 |

Unwanted Garden Visitorby rwinburnComment: Nice capture... I do wish, however, that it were a bit bigger. (You are allowed up to 640 pixels on a side for your challenge submissions-- PM or email me if you need any help getting your shot resized.) |

Silent Invaderby thelselComment: Beautiful! Love the rich, saturated colors and the nice use of negative space to accentuate the caterpillar. --10 |

Siestaby moodvilleComment: Nice use of B/W to emphasize the textures in the fence. I do find the off-square nature of your shot a bit distracting, however. --7 |

Mill Stream Gardenby BAMartinComment: Beautiful shot... I wish I had scenery like this near my home! I especially like the longer exposure and the 'frosted' quality it has imparted to the running water. --9 |

Two For Teaby dprentComment: Nicely done... I like the title and its relation to the shot. There seems to be some odd stuff going on in the background, however-- it appears almost like it has been a bit overprocessed, perhaps smoothed? It detracts from the overall quality of the shot, in my opinion. |

Pit Stopby aliaComment: Wow! What an incredible shot! One of my favorites out of the bunch... I especially like the shallow DOF combined with the razor-sharp focus in the center of the frame. I do wish, however, that the highlights (especially on the branch) were a bit more subdued. --9 |

Garden Wheelby MiekaComment: Very nice lighting and an interesting composition... The strong difference between the subdued tones in the foreground and the nearly washed-out gravel in the background, however, seems to almost 'tear' the scene apart. My eye is drawn to the texture and shape of the wheel, but almost immediately drawn away and fixates on the gravel. --6 |
