Stop 4by wickee_oneComment: I really like this one ... doesn't look like much as a thumb, but the full size really pops. The colors on the butterfly wings somehow blend with the foliage in the background, and that wonderfully placed tree trunk just brings everything together very nicely. Well done ... I think this is my favorite of the bunch. Thanks for joining us on the walkabout! |

Stop 3by wickee_oneComment: Wow -- this looks like it would have been a good subject for the From the Ground Up challenge, I like the butterfly taking off into the bright blue sky. |

Stop 2by wickee_oneComment: Good composition and, yes, nice choice for desat. The shadows are a little distracting here ... might be a good subject to go back to when the light changes and see what else you come up with. That's what I love about walkabouts ... a chance to take pictures of things you walk by every day! Nice find. |

Stop 1by wickee_oneComment: Nice close up, tack sharp, and good DOF control. Looks like some kind of artichoke? Nice find! |

Walkabout 4by ephlnComment: Great colors on this one, and looks like your fingers finally started to warm up as that macro shake is gone. Glad you joined us on our little walkabout! |

Walkabout 2by ephlnComment: Nice composition and a great little macro subject you found on your walk. Looks like there may be a bit of camera shake going on ... looks tack sharp in the thumb but a bit off full size. |

Walkabout-Oct-3.jpgby joynimComment: Great colors and concentration! I might consider cropping the left and right sides a bit, so just the horizontal lines are in the background. Looks like you both had a blast on your walkabout. Thanks for playing! |

Walkabout-Oct-2.jpgby joynimComment: As others have said, the processing takes this ordinary scene and makes it something else, but it took your photographer's eye to see the potential in the first place and snap the picture ... which was exactly the point of this challenge. Great job taking something ordinary and making it extraordinary! |

walkabout-Oct-1.jpgby joynimComment: Nice idea with the triptych, and a good subject as well. Another way to handle this would be a panorama photo with the three shots stitched together ... I like how you can see parts of the other churches in each of the photos. Nice start to your walk! |
