Not posed or rehearsed: a candid snapshot. RIP JPM 4/5/06by aznaturalComment: Regardless of challenge-oriented comments (of which you'll probably get many, I'm sure), I think you could happily have used a point of view other than the straightforward standing-up one for this; it's a pretty humdrum scene, and needs perhaps more sense of context, which would have been available from lower. |

... by phoenix46Comment: Pretty cool stuff, though your chosen framing presents problems I think. Both her gaze and her outstretched arm push the dynamic out of frame, making for a non self-contained photograph, which is a shame. Processing and detail are exemplary. |

An eye on the Keeperby ckempfComment: Oh, the animal problem. Whilst not exactly outside the challenge definition, I can't help but feel that most voters will actually consider it so. Nice shot, although lacking some exposure and processing control around the head and eye. |

Cherub Unawareby SandyPComment: Unaware? Inwhat sense exactly? One can almost see the photographers light-coloured shirt reflected in her pupils. Odd titling indeed. Decent enough shot, but I think some more care might have gone into processing - the skin tones are just a little flat to my eye. |

Only God Can Make A Treeby reischComment: It's a pretty nice moment, but you need to get into the idea of cropping, and do something about submission dimensions and size: on a high-res monitor even the full size images are a bit small for impact. This could have used some processing all round really, to give it a bit of ping - but as I said, the basic thing, taking the actual shot, is there. |

Banjomanby h2Comment: Neat work. I like how much fun he's having. The tree? can't make up my mind whether that's a good thing or not ... |

Patient Reflectionby LucidLotusComment: Interesting fella; Strong composition, but perhaps missing a sense of detail, and without that sense of the perfect moment that would make the lack of it irrelevant. |

Concentrationby mmusicanteComment: Good work. I like the cropping, which achieves a strong dynamic line between his face and his hands. Overall it perhaps lacks some viual finesse to score really well, but it's certainly a proper shot. |

POTby lulomaComment: Now here's a real contender :-) I'm not quite sure what you might have misunderstood, but misunderstood you have. |

The Commuteby shelley1017Comment: Not sure this will be considered properly 'candid' by most. It has such a strong graphic quality, such geometry, that makes for a fine image, but to me it isn't referenced to a specific 'moment' so much as a location. |
