Temptingby sigrun_thComment: I don't really think your title works with the image - in either the straightforward sense of 'nice looking' of mythico-biblical one of The Fall. That said, I quite like the image - its absence of the sentimental careful lighting tricks makes it seem the more real for it. |

The Lonely Shelterby GiorgioComment: Processing here is just too bizarre for words - almost like the shot is inverted, you've pulled the shadows out so much. |

Snowy Egretby notbiscuitComment: I like the lines in the water - the marvellous deformation of them from the ripples; a pity, perhaps, that they couldn't be more in focus, to make this less of a simple portrait of the bird. |

sunriseby clangley50Comment: I'm unsure about this composition - though certainly the actual detail and focus isn't going to work for many voters. I think the composition, mainly the background, could have been still cleaner - the black triangle removed for instance - to make more of the impact of the silhouette. |

Bon Nuitby blue296Comment: Can't get interested in this at all - the light of that direct flash reflects so strongly and harshly from the fur, and this isn't a moment that's at all outstanding. |

Ole Blue Eyesby PhotologistComment: And ole orange frame, too. I really thing that taking a key colour into the frame makes for a very weird composition - weakening the colour in the actual image, making for a bizarre extra element that the shot surely doesn't need. Good detail and processing and light in the actual image though, but there isn't any real fascination to it - just a technically assured shot, without doing anything more. |

Untitledby fotomann_foreverComment: Flash is very heavy here - those nasty shadows from the hand and the nose could effectively be softened and produce a smoother image overall. It seems an odd pose to have chosen - either as a pose or as a chosen moment by you. |

Sierra Sunriseby sailracer_98Comment: If there were more blue, rather than purple, perhaps the reds and ambers would have more punch. Still just a pretty sky shot to me, however. |

Shopping for Sabbathby LevTComment: Good candid portrait, although outside of the light I don't find it very absorbing. It seems a very disengaged image - we're not close enough, not involved enough (in fact, the activity perhaps is just too ordinary) to be completely drawn in - and also there's nothing, compositionally, to add punch or fascination. Still has its strong points - detail, colour, light etc. |

Saving Our Soldierby JimmieComment: I don't quite get it; it's far more interesting than the majority of pretty-pretty landscapes etc., of course, but I can't quite see the point compositionally. The two blokes seem unrelated to other elements. The obvious connection of the three figures - simply by being figures - isn't enough to bring an overall impact to the image, it just seems to be a statue, and some blokes laying a path. Still, it is a humnan image, a real image, which is a good thing. |
