Self-portraitsby ubiqueComment: This is groovy; I kind of like the refusal to deal with anything approaching the bright lights here. Much of this challenge features the bleedin' obvious, and this has far greater depth and sincerity. |

Vegi puzzleby scotthadlComment: Gloriously, wonderfully foul-looking. It speaks to me of rolls of fat, and the colour tones are excellently mephitic. Especially that fade to grey in the lower right corner. |

No Furtherby prperoldComment: I can't decide whether those gorgeous rich tones and spot-on processing make a fitting contrast to the sinister subject-matter, or whether they feel like a sop to the chocolate-box loving voters 'round here. |

The only human beeing who lived in harmonyby MephistoComment: Hmmm. Strangely unbalanced; I'm unconvinced, really. I mean, hell, it's more interesting than the vast majority, but I sense I'm dealing with a stronger eye and vision that deserves a tougher assessment. Somehow, not quite strange enough? Though one has to love the nearest figure, of course. |

Half Aliveby treimeeComment: Fun to be verging on the quality of absolute chaos: I'm curious to know how muich further one could go before losing all sense of real-world reference in an image such as this. Great fun. Have to say I hate the border trick, however - seems completely naff compared with the riot of the image. |

All Aboardby tvsometimeComment: A parade of ghosts; I enjoy the roughness of this, though perhaps the slightly off-square framing adds a dynamic that isn't in the end helpful? And of course, I think ot cries out to be black and white - I don't think the dirt and sootiness of it would be lost, and the parade of shapes might be enhanced. Fine work. |

...and they pondered his demiseby Adamsw216Comment: Somehow seems to be not quite in focus: perhaps just lacking a degree of sharpness. I quite like the amount of negative space, and the refusal to include all the apples in frame; down-side is the slightly blue tinge to the background, which feels a little sickly to my eye. |

Not a box of chocolatesby MelethiaComment: At first I liked that semi-vignette, now if feels like there's something in my eye. Love the picture, really, but I'm unconvinced about that - it seems both a little over-done, and a little heavy-handed. Still the best shot in the challenge so far, though. |

36.52 Raceby MelethiaComment: I like your processing of this, just enough weight in the shadows, and just enough bang in the light; it's all made, of course, by the young Isaac Newton to image left. |
