Standing up to the test of Time.by chickadeeComment: beautiful - great natural progression of contrast, detail (sadly lacking in so many other shots), and something of a story - at least to me. Not sure the title's entirely accurate - it seems to be suffering somewhat :-) |

Under the Bridgeby SimmsComment: Big grin - she's very photogenic, Tower Bridge, isn't she? I took a shot something like this myself, and didn't enter it for the same reason I'm unsure about your shot - it just doesn't quite give the impression/impact the bridge actually has: I found it a really difficult subject (perhaps because so well known), and so went and shot something else :-) Good try though (better than mine was, anyway). |

Extending Over the Severn Estuaryby KonadorComment: Nice shot. Like the contrast of the clean lines of the main supports and the messiness underneath in the foreground. Good composition too - one of the few so far that looks like some real thought has gone into it |

Martian Sunriseby Dr NickComment: There's something here I can't quite put my finger on that I don't like: great idea, and well executed; clever, the composition is excellent, especially the wide framing of the shot. Maybe I'm just not a fan of such contrived shots? Still giving you an 8 though.
On reviewing things: I now think the sun/light is too central to the composition (this is what was bugging me). And there's a lack of detail on the surface? It seems not quite in focus ... 7 now :-( |

FLYING EGGSby GotchyaComment: Very interesting - but no real impression of motion (either that or these eggs are huge!). Really well executed though. The diagonal of the arm is very strong too. I found it perplexing rather than striking, if you know what I mean. |

One Strange Bird...by basia03Comment: Too close? There are quality problems - lots of digital/jpeg noise and stuff, and I think I'd have liked it more if shown more of a setting for it. |

fiVe EgGsby zadoreComment: Nice idea. Whites flaring a little, and why is the end of the 'tongue' cropped? Doesn't do anything for me really. |

Sevenby rj324Comment: Always intersting to see an effectively black and white composition in full colour, especially digital - shows how critical white balance can be. Like the framing, and the grouping, but the highlights are a little over-exposed for me - could have been a half stop less. 7 |

An Egg Stillby JeileenComment: V small pic! Like the blue wall very much - what a gift to photo! did you try having the foreground eggs in focus and the background out? I think the composition draws the eye to the edge of the basket, rather than the wall, and so the DOF confuses things here. Also (small point) the eggs don't look fragile enough to me: too shiny, could almost be porcelain fake ones. Nice try though. 6 |
