.. match meby Ecce_SignumComment: Real depth of detail lost in that loss of sharpness - camera resolution, cropping or processing I've no idea. Kind of intersting subject, though rather chaotically organised - a very busy shot and the background doesn't help that at all. Close-cropping can be a great trick, but is only half-applied here. |

Alien lightby RangerComment: Never really found these liquid-metal tone photos very likeable. This seems more about refraction of light than of texture. Obviously a 'good' photo, and those tones are pretty well brought out. negative space to right of frame is a pity - though if i brighten things up a lot I can see stuff there. I guess ther is some suggestion of the feel of water, after looking a while, so I won't give you the 'doesn't fit the challenge' thing :-) 6 |

Eye Witnessby nikon_girlComment: Bizarre tones, interesting reflection - though the most interesting thing for me is trying to work out what that word is, and then trying to understand its relevance. As far as a quality of reflectiveness is a quality of texture this is OK - but the other things goig on don't make that the primary interst of this shot, and thus not what it's about. Don't understand the colour-cast, don't see a point to it. |

Answers on a postcardby tomjComment: Seriously ugly! :-) Way too much flash, completely killing any ambient light. White stripe in background an odd touch. properly lit the conjunction of thumb and finger could be interesting - like this, well poor work, I'm afraid. |

It's like Lichensby BNCComment: Good textures, almost a landscape feel. Perhaps more about the colour than the texture, though. I find the composition a bit bothersome: there isn't a real subject here - the eye just wanders, but the inclusion of the sky makes it more than a rhythmically composed shot, drawing the eye toward the 'horizon' all the time. |

falling lightby f0rTyLeGzComment: Hmm. Is 'doesn't meet the challenge' a new thing to say here? It's a very beautiful shot, I'll give you that, and well captured, has great serenity. I really think it's too much of a stretch to enter it in a challenge whose theme is 'texture', as what you've captured is an effect of light in air, and in your darkening of the sea you've preactically removed all textures from this image. I'm afraid you'll be scored down, and not just by me. |

Wrappedby nosherComment: Oh my. Blurry to the point of abstraction. Has a quality of wetness - mucus-like, almost. The odd sensation of small circles emerging from the mess. It also has the appearance of an out-of-focus shot of something. |

chokin georgeby kentComment: Blatantly dpc-friendly blue background here :-) Well enough lit to show the skin texture, though that of the note suffers and has become very bland. Skin tones are oddly red (maybe that's just you :-)). |

These keys open the door to technologyby xcharrierComment: The roughness of apparently smooth things :-) The angle is good, and the complex/simple contrast. My eye is constantly pulled toward the foreground keys, and then back to where you've placed the focal plane, whcih makes for a disconcerting conflict in such a minimal composition. I have no problem with the very shallow DOF, but more with the point fo focus you've chosen. |

Grandpa I can make your hands smooth again.by STEPHENIEComment: Lighting and the level of contrast (perhaps rather the level of mid-tones) you've chosen to use here don't do a lot for this. I think the idea of the contrast of young and old skin is good, though I find the 'joke' a bit twee, and this doesn't communicate that contrast effectively. |
