Swirlby amsmythComment: Interesting pattern, little sense of surface texture. I think you've lost too much fine detail for that reeally to show through. |

Showin' a Little Legby MrsFuzzButtComment: Excellent work with lighting, really evinces the textures here. Compositionally a bit odd - placing that leg dead centre upsets the blance of the image, and makes the other leg look like it got in the way, rather than featuring it. |

Golden Ropeby agwrightComment: Sparkling effect of direct light (flash?) is quite pretty, and gives a sense of shininess, but I think the addition of some kind of side-light would add a sense of depth and therefore a more convincing sense of texture. Good rhythmic composition, no distractions. |

pine up closeby urmigComment: Tonally quite good, and good definition within the field of focus. A shame you've had to include so very much of that badly blown out sky to get that, as that area holds so mich attention, perhaps due to the interaction of those colours. |

Sensative Touchby JaguarComment: Won't comment on the spelling :-) Good illustration of available textures. Especially like the metallic plastic you've caught on the surface of the mouse. Well lit (but those two things are pretty much the same really). Doesn't hold the interst everso long as a photograph however - just perhaps not enough interest in the subject. |

Harmonyby RoosterComment: Having trouble seeing any detail in this. I hate the plethora of comments about thing being too dark sometimes, but I've looked at this under a number of different brighness settings and can't really get much visible. Those few reflections give quite a strong sense of texture though - of harness, of being cut from stone. |

The magic of lightby FlipperComment: Not a bad go, of its type. Can't recall ever seeing one of these CD reflection shots doing that well here, which i think is a little odd given the prettiness of those refractions. As an interpretation of texture this takes some knowledge to fit in, and its an approach that I don't think many others have taken (nor will understand, I fear). |

oxidisation - metal vs. the elementsby jsmileyComment: Damn damn amn I Hate that border -so obtrusive it defies belief! it actually has a negative effect on the photograph, making the blue in the image seem like a bizarre optical illusion due to the border. Very nasty indeed, I'm afraid. Can't get round it ata ll to look at the picture, I just keep wanting to look away. Sorry. |

Smoothby orussellComment: Good light, and a good capture of a sense of smoothness on the box. Leaving that glass half out of shot seems a poor decision on the face of it, and I can't see what purpose it serves in compositional terms. Kind of dull subject matter, really: without the text, would there be anything to hold the eye? |

blending inby unikornComment: Poor. Badly over-exposed and dreadfully lit anyway. very small, but even so the quality of the image remains distinctly dodgy. No real sense of feeling at all. |
