Comment:
Quite good balance compositionally, though maybe too rigidly orthodox. Quality of light is good, but putting that shadowed cliff top right of frame is an odd choice. Besides the scree on that slope, don;t get much feel of texture.

does little for me, this. I'd say your biggest problem is the lighting - you've communicated little or no sense of the feel of the ball - and surely, especially an old ball, ought to have a great feel?

Comment:
Small image. My feeling is that this emphasises the patterning rather than the texture. Subtle, but impotant difference.

difficult to look at - both to find a point for the eye to rest, and actually in the purely physical sense of perceiing anything ot be in focus - only in the very top of frame can I find a place where i think ican get hold of something in frame. As with so many shots, a sense of patterning rather than of texture.

Feel My Bumps

What you ahev shown here is the patterning of the tree, rather than the texture of it - sure there are shadows in the bigger cracks, but what about the shadows that would let us see the smaller graduations of the surface texture - likewise there's a movement of colour through the frame, but the intensity of light seems even throughout, even at a quite detailed level. Hardly anywhere do i get a sense of roughness/smoothness.

Good work, really has caught the graininess of the frost flowers. Nice gentle even light, though poerhaps you might have poushed the contrast a touch further without compromising anything. Some sense of more general shapes to keep the eyye happy with the composition, but that's where it falls down for me - don't feel it would hold my attention for very long.

Reasonable landscape photo, though a very harsh moment of light that you've chosen. Kind of sense some feel in the rocks, but not so much in the ice. Not much impression of the three-dimensionality of things here - some, but not much.

very interesting image, even arresting one might say. Ther's a metallic, or plastic quality to that drop of water, but in the end not enough detailing to repay longer viewing - and not enough grace of composition to capture the eye.

Comment:
Good tones, good focus, quite a pleasing composition, and some sense of depth. cropping to just the edge of the mouth disturbs the balance of it though, for me - especially with that area of light on the lower lip like that.

Comment:
Thought I'd already commented on this. Has some good quality of texture, but no great harmony of composition. Main focus of interest too centred in anotherwise bland frame to hold the eye long.
