Wonderful toning, good sense of tactility, feel that you could really get hold of and squeeze this. Whatever it is. I think you've moved the point of primary visual interest to the centr of frame, which makes the shot lack balance a touch.

Good capture of the play of light on the water, suggests a kind of mtallic liquid, as your title re-inforces. Placement of the poles, compositionally, seems a bit weak, leading us through the frame rather than really into it.

Lighting lighting lighting. On-board flash has absolutely wiped out any sense of texture - lighting from the same direction as the camera is inevitably going to do that, and in this case it's not even too much fill, it just appears to be the sole source of light here. because of that, this communicates little sense of texture.

Impression

Indistinct detailing, and small contrast ruins this. Could have been a contender, but the quality of the shot lets it down badly. In terms of the organisation compositionally it is well done though.

Not well organised - keeping just a hint of the nose is disturbing, the fingers could be further up he cheek to balance the elements properly. Light makes for good portrait illumination, but little sense of feel.

Indistinct. Sure the focus is OK, but the lighting is dreadfully flat, there's almost no sense of depth at all, those small glimpses of the skin seem peculiarly toned, and those patches along with that blue stuff upset what is an apparently un-though-out composition anyway.

There's a haziness across this that's annoying - like fogging on a lens. That seems to have muted the detail too, which is a pity in a neat composition.

How I wonder what it is? No great sense of texture, what there is is from those reflections rather than a movment of light, which makes it less pleasing to look at.

Hmm. Like a canyon landscape. great depth of detail, great lighting at last (so few seem to understand that). I find the topmost section or piece of wood it seems perhaps too dissociated from the rest of it to be really coherent in this composition. The darkness might hurt you in general, but not from here.

Caught that foamy rubbery feel quite well. Don't find it a terribly appealing subject however, doesn't hold my interest long.
