"Nose textures"by cathysappComment: Careful work. Might have wanted the light a little less heaad-on, just to emphasise the textures a touch more. But colouring and detail are good. I also wonder if the main areas of interest are a little low in this frame - the nose and the edges of those whiskers are where the eye percieves structure, and those are both in the lower half of the picture. |

Traditional Jewlery (Bone carving)by aKiwiComment: Good lighting - combination of different temperatures is effective, and also helps to add shape to the subject. In terms of texture, there's more to hold the eye in the background than in the bone-carving itself. |

Goldenby decordasComment: Vertical placing within frame is good, allows the eye to remain concentrated on the wrap of the bottle. Do find it's not being properly vertial annoying, and the relative placing of the bottle in the backgroundcrowds it a little - a touch more gap between the edge of that bottle and the edge of the gold would not crowd the gold so much. |

Nature's Textureby DianaComment: quite good on the feel of the corn. Setting it against that background is odd - it adds elements of story to the shot, it being such an unusual point of view, but for the life of me I can't say what that story is. seems a meaningless, arbitrary thing to do, to me. |

Beak and Feathersby sitkanComment: Good work. Lacks the dynamism to really excite the eye - colours and textures quite muted really, and your presentation (composition and cropping, aspect ratio) isn't actually doing it any favours - not quite sure what i'd change, but the eye being dead centre to frame is a difficult thing to get away with, even though you've promoted it to the top of the image. |

Forever greenby kebmod54Comment: Confused composition, not sure (from your ttitle also) which is the subject here. Blue fringing on the snow is a touch unhappy. Don't see the point, I'm afraid. |

Genesis of the silkby JeansebComment: Do like these shots - the sense of texture discovered only in a long exposure photograph, and this is pretty good of ots type. Perhaps sacrificed much sense of the progression of light across the rocks to that movement of water. Good work though. |

Winter's Affect on a Rose Bushby smshatsComment: No clarity of detail - focus fine, but somehow the fine stuff isn't there. Diffucult to percieve texture then. Quite a neat subject, but not convincingly presented. |

Coralby MousieComment: Find this bland - progression of light and shade in the coral itself is muted, which has the inevitable effect on the perception of texture. Don't find anywhere for my eye to rest in the compositon either - it's alla bit too much the same, without much sense of rhythm in the composition either - the thing doesn't grow in an even regular way, and doesn't leave those regular patterns for the eye to follow. |

Snowed Seawallsby ndouzComment: Graphically interesting, though i think perhaps you've relegateed the caps of the defences somewhat by your composition. The eyeis pulled by that brightness and the curve of the mass of wall to the open sea, which is perhaps not your intent? |
