Blue Jeansby acquaresegoneComment: Good detail composition - a strong sense of balance here. A feeliong of a rough texture, which is good. Perhaps a less harsh light would have emphasised that more, some of the shaping is flattened by the light like this. |

Full Metal Beltby Evil_MunkyComment: I find this an uncomfortable composition, this curl away from the camera, and only really suggested by focus - I would try to shoot it so that that movement was at least in the two dimensions you actually have available in a photograph, that would lead the eye more successfully, I think. Good work on the metal texture. |

Aged Deminby Everyday ReneeComment: Quality bright punchy shot. Great detailing and colour and focus. Works compositionally too, within that framing. The black plastic thing visible through the button-hole is a shame, but not that terrible. Only does half a job on communicating texture to me though, don't get a real sense of the feel of the denim. |

The Golden Wallby tyt2000Comment: excellently done. The fan of the light really aids the composition, whilst never detroying the impact of that texture. real movement of light through the frame too. Looks like a floor and rotated image to me (no bad thing). Good colour too, not overwhelming the central idea of the shot. |

Purseby clarinet00Comment: Good illumination of a texture here - though i do think you ought to have cropped entirely to the blue thing, rather than leaving that blank area at extreme top. Good light, good exposure, good colour, but lacking in a real subject for me: the patterning is simply not enough of itself. |

The Enduranceby GPComment: Like the suggestion of your title very much. Would like to have seen more definition in these surfaces, which is just a function of the moment of light you've employed. The patterning of the sets isn't enough alone to hold my interest, whereas the depiction of the surface texture migh have added that element. |

Is Curly a texture????by boyte1Comment: Answer: no. However, the smoothness or crinkliness that you ahve captured in those curls is, and is well evinced here. Punchy bright colours are very good. The only real downside for me is that I fail to find a solid subject in this shot - it would make a great wallpaper, perhaps, but not something to hold the eye of itself. |

Lamp Shade Labyrinthby ozaibakComment: Interesting abstract - though as with very many shots here its subject is patterning arther than texture: I get no sense of the three-dimensionality of this subject here. Like the exposure very much though, and the detail is excellent. |

Sea Shellby carrieannComment: Good work on the texture. Shot has the feel of an exhibition catalogue, and seems purely representative to me. Anentirely competent representative shot, but still just that. |

Duck and Forest Floorby newtune3Comment: very muted light here - works well to bring out the red of the thing's (whatever you call the beak surround) face. Not a great deal of impression of texture however - which is the downside of that quality of light. Your positioning of teh duck's head in frame leaves something to eb desired for me: it's very central, and makes for an odd look to the overall composition, especially with the boidy going out of frame like that. |
