an unfortunate tendency to wear my heart on my sleeveby idpComment: LOL...me too! It's been broken more than I care to think about. I had an entry in that had a knife, just like this one and I used red acrylic paint, mixed with a bit of brown to make it look less red and more like blood. Still came out pretty red though. One of the comments was, "blood looks fake"! I had to wonder what they thought it *should* be??? LOL People also took the time to analyze HOW the blood should have been splattered or dripped or whatever. I still can't get over that! LOL I'm sure that this one is causing some "gross" comments and likely a lower score because everyone likes "PRETTY" LOL. |

Racy Redby loveComment: Came back to see if you'd put photographer's notes to find the placement. Should have scored higher!!! Sorry...this place is nuts at times and no one knows why or what or how things work and things don't. Shame. |

Flipby colorcarnivalComment: Wow, I cannot believe that this scored so low! Of course, I cannot believe that this was yours!! :)
Brilliantly done Michelle! People don't get anything that has much depth to shots in here. Give 'em a splash shot, a lovely piece of eyecandy scenery and you're front page! LOL ;)
One of my faves!!! :)
As for there being "no point of colour"?????? There's about 150 shots in this challenge for which there is no real "point of colour"! *SIGH*
Ok, vented and going to fave this now! :) |

I Am My Work -- the Thorn that Weeps, & Holds the Sky Entire...by Bear_MusicComment: Robert, I came to this shot through a discussion thread on the Self-Portrait II challenge. Just wanted to say that I find both the title and the shot to be BRILLIANT! Love your notes on it. It makes perfect sense and fits well with what needs to be said. :) (Had I said it, I would have been slammed LOL) |

Heroin Alleyby mgarsteckComment: This is a great shot and I agree with Melethia that you have a "target audience" of which, I'm one for this shot. I actually gave you a 9 on this one because it spoke volumes to me. The bike, to me, seemed as though it might have been brought into the area by someone who had either stolen it or, was in the area for some other reason that would not normally be "his/her area" so to speak. I wasn't bothered by that. I think though that DPC is simply geared towards a different style of photography...more the advertising/stock shot combo, eye candy and a very smooth, pretty, studio look or beautiful landscape/waterscape/skyscape type of scene (zoo shots work really well in here as do water splashes and bees ROFL! ;)) Frankly, I love this type of shot and thus, the 9 in score from me. Sorry that I didn't have time to comment sooner than this. Better late than never though. :) |

Racy Redby loveComment: Very artsy style shot and reminds me of an old poster style shot. The rules were no "Selective desat" so, it looks as though you are well within the rules! :) From the black in the front look, I have to ask....was your model body painted white?! Now, I have to know! LOL I hope that you'll share in your photographer's notes after challenge as I'd now like to know. :) Congrats! Wonderful shot! :) |

Flipby colorcarnivalComment: Brilliantly done! I'm assuming this is a reflection/refraction shot either projected or captured through glass vs illegal. However you did this (I hope you'll share post challenge in your photographer's notes because it is BRILLIANT to have done this legally and I'm now extremely curious as to just HOW you did do this...will drive me crazy now LOL!!!!), it carries a deep message and is quite fascinating, not to mention a piece of art!!! Absolutely stunning! |

I look prettier after my second cup of coffee!by JudiComment: I just re-visited this one and I'm STILL laughing! I can imagine your hubby's horror at having this one do so well! I'm sure he was happy for you but, mortified at the same time. Your hubby is as good a sport as mine, who sat out in the snow with a guitar for me, freezing his rear off (literally), dressed in a Hawaian short sleeved shirt for the Led Zeppelin challenge way back. He also did the cross dressing shot for me BUT...wouldn't let me put his face into the shot LOL!
Made me chuckle again. :) |
