Spring Stormby DennisFComment: This is just a bizarre image, that I love a lot. It is esoteric in a scientific way, and the circles and lines reflect the challenge theme of pi well. Well done! |

'Pi' in the eye. by casualguyComment: The colors of the eye shadow really add a "technological feel" to this shot. Very effective cropping and idea. |

Seeing the Ratioby arnitComment: Just a bit too cropped for me, but I actually like the long horizontal: it adds a sense of "scientific constraint" for me. And of course, I'm sure you're pleased with the reflection on the cornea. This image creates, well it's hard to describe but it creates a kind of technological myth for me, with pi at the "magic" center. Well done! |

Pi with an Eby OneSweetSinComment: Okay, this is a pie, and not really pi, but the lines you use with chocolate do suggest pi, as pi deals directly with the diameter of a circle. While the image is out of focus, I do think the lines and textures help create interest. |

Solid Silver Piby drydocComment: Okay, I can vaguely see pi here with the curved roof and vertical sides of the building. I think? I like this concept, and I like lines you've created with your perspective and good cropping. It seems that in such a context, pi can be seen as an essential element in architecture; you are showing its usefulness by also showing us its shape on/as the building? Perhaps to be more effective, if that is your aim, some unique lighting would be appropriate, perhaps in a less harsh time of the day (in terms of light). This would bring out pi's mythic ability to be applied to almost anything and would transport your image from being a picture of a building that looks like pi to an image that suggests that pi is everywhere and is a pervasive force to be reckoned with. |

Pi on the bullseyeby WILDBLUEComment: I like the contrasts between pi and the white stripes of the bullseye here. I am confused, however, at what I'm supposed to "see" here. It seems symbolic of some kind of "pi essence," but I can't make that connection. It is a tad out of focus, but it is also an image I like and will return to in order to discover its secrets. |

PI Abstractby GolferDDSComment: Interesting lines and shadows here that tell me that pi is someting complex that is created out of something simple: a circle. Seems slightly out of focus, but I find this image engaging. |

Gateway to Enlightenmentby AntithesisComment: Your title is effective here at making me think beyond your photo to the essence of understanding pi itself. Now I wish the power lines(?) weren't there and that it seemed more in focus. I love the angle and perspective, positing pi as both daunting and a gateway. Nice. |

Banana Piby jodiecostonComment: Goofy and fun. Bananas are the ultimate goofy fruit. They are rarely associated with elegance. Your image does not tell me much more than that, though. Perhaps some different lighting, or a different background would help you comment on pi and not merely make a symbol out of a banana? |

A Mathematician's Yahtzee Roll - 31415by StevePaxComment: I like how the dice here remind us that pi, as a number, has chance-like qualities. The composition of the dice I also like. It looks random, but I suspect you spent several minutes arranging them just so. The focus is on the last dice, when I think the image would be stronger with them all in focus. More "mysterious" lighting would also help transport the whole image into the realm of myth and fate and chance. Pi is usually associated with circles, so I find this image refreshing. |
