Wow, this is a lovely image! I love how it is both backlit and front lit in different places. More black? Perhaps, but I think it is well balanced and doesn't need the negative space for interesting, balance, or anything else.

Great idea! Centered composition is appropriate. Straightforward point of view is, well, straightforward and communicates what you want to communicate. Have you tried other angles for fun?
