I love the whole look and feel of this great photo! I think people were turned off by the similarity to the blue challenge, but it doesn't take from the quality of this one. Otherwise, a great shot, that just needs a bit of softening to lighten up on the glare.

This image is absolutely HILARIOUS and a great light-hearted approach to the challenge!

LIGHTING: GREAT! Your lighting focuses all the attention on the banana, which is exactly where it should be for the challenge!

CHALLENGE: Obviously met the challenge perfectly.

TECHNICAL: It's a little too sharp (if you notice the glare on the arm hairs and along the knuckles). Just a little softening would fix this.

OVERALL: Really, I love this photo! I think it's creative and so funny - very refreshing after critiqueing so many serious shots! Thanks for sharing!

All I can say is this shot is absolutely STUNNING! I know I'm supposed to critique you, but I can't see anything I would change. It's a GORGEOUS shot...I'm sure it was breathtaking to be there!

I think it's great that you took the time to take this at a show. It changed my critique quite a bit! If you had taken this at home, I would recommend maybe lighting them, and cutting down on how many you used a little, but, knowing now that you took them at a show, here's my critique!

LIGHTING: You took advantage of great lighting without having to use any of your own. I can see your flash glare, but that can be easily touched up in an editing program.

CHALLENGE: Definitely meets the yellow challenge. There were so many BRIGHT yellow entries, that this one may have gotten lost in the shuffle, and come off a little pale to some people.

SUBJECT: Cute and fun to look at. Definitely brings to mind warmth, and I can practically smell the vanilla and envision the show.

POST CHALLENGE SUGGESTIONS: Now that the challenge is over, I would recommend toning down the glare, and maybe putting a soft "fog" border around this. Really, overall it's a great shot, and I'm impressed you caught it in a crowd!

Lighting: I don't see anything wrong with the lighting you used... I am assuming it was natural light??

Technical: As you've heard before, I think the focus is soft. These are obviously gorgeous flowers, and a sharper focus would have made for a better photo.

Challenge: Can't get more yellow! Definitely met the challenge head on!

Overall: Really a great shot and a wonderful try! I have always struggled with depth of field and focus, both of which would have made this an even better photo. All I can say is practice practice practice. But, I still think it's a great shot and one you can be proud of.

Hi! I already commented on this during the challenge, so it will be kind of strange giving it an in-depth critique! LOL!

LIGHTING: Using natural sunlight was really the only way to go with this picture. Obviously, it was very overcast and "white" out that day, so the sky didn't help much! There's not much you could do about that! I might have moved a standard flourescent out to cast more of a yellow glow from the bottom up on the plant

CHALLENGE: I have an opinion on the Yellow challenge, and you can agree or disagree! I think yellow is usually associated with warmth, security, and happiness. There were some awesome entries, but if you go through the scores, you'll notice that anything that had to do with cold, negativity, or abstract thinking didn't do well. The top photos signified warmth. I think that's the only reason this didn't do better. I also think it would have done better in another challenge. When you photograph colors, you might want to keep in mind what the color signifies in our minds, and stick with that theme. (Just my own personal ideas)

TECHNICAL: I think everything here was set just fine. It is slightly washed and flat, so maybe increasing your depth of field would help a bit.

OVERALL: I think this is a creative, fun idea! The pot is gorgeous, and you definitely captured the "bleakness" of the day. Very original and well done!

Well, I hope you don't get upset by the very SHORT Critique, but this is a fabulous shot that met the challenge perfectly. I honestly don't see anything I would remove...oh wait..next time, go drive all those cars out of the way so there's more focus on the builing (just kidding). Really this is an awesome shot that should have scored higher in my opinion.

This is such an awesome photo! I don't know if I'm the right person to critique it because I love it so much!

LIGHTING: Very good, but may have provided more interest with some shadows or shading. That's just being nit-picky though

CHALLENGE: About as rhythmic as you can get! I find it fascinating how you caught this without flaws disturbing the rhythm of the print.

SUBJECT: I like what you chose because it's unique. The earth color is absolutely GORGEOUS! The red tint makes it so interesting and fun to look at.

OVERALL: A really great photo that seems to go on forever. You should be proud of this one...I honestly can't think of much I would change.

I was the last person to comment on this photo during the challenge, and now here I am critiqueing it! LOL!

LIGHTING: LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. Your lighting is downright perfect in my opinion.

SUBJECT: Simple, but so original all at the same time. It took some creativity to think this up, and I really love the overall look of it.

OVERALL: This was one of my favorites, so there really is nothing I would change. Maybe touch up the flash on the fork, but otherwise, this is a real attention-grabber, and still one of my favorites.
