we the living by Ayn Randby jmritzComment: A decent candid. I get the tie to the story, but it feels forced a little. A little more on the dark scale would have helped build the story in this picture, as the only really dark spot is in the top corner and pulls my attention to it. 5 |

The Prophetby jagarComment: I have not read this book. With that in mind, this has an appropriateness about it. The hint of worship and the warm rich yellows really work well. 8 |

Lord of the Fliesby jaysonmcComment: A curious take on an oft violent story. They almost seem too innocent, though I guess the story starts innocent in a way. I would like it a tad darker and more black toned only because of the dark overtones in the book. 6 |

Wuthering Heights, a dark and ugly placeby AmmieComment: I could see a ghost attachment to this place. Technically sound, but difficult to make spooky with the stronger light. The transition from sky to house seems to have a glow that I think detracts. 6 |

Catch Her in the Ryeby IrvineJamesComment: The girl sort of fits the story, but it seems like a reach. A pun on the title still, and a quite nice shot. Would have rated it higher in a different challenge. 6 |

War of The Worldsby MondComment: An interesting place. The colors help emote the story, but I still feel like it's a bit of a reach. 5 |

Fahrenheit 451by hopefulcrafty1Comment: The flames and tone are just right, except that the tops of the flames are cut off. The best part of the fire shots are the wispy tops. Still, a burning page right out of the book! 6 |

Lord of the fliesby nygoldComment: Love the snarls! Definitely right out of the book. The black and white are a little flat. Would definitely like more on the dark scale, particularly with this story. 6 |

Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradburyby BrennanOBComment: I like the framing of the book and the fire, but man I hate seeing books burn! I hope it wasn't the Bradbury! Totally out of your control, but would have liked the flames a little more isolated from one another. Cutting the tops off the flames off doesn't help them feel less cluttered. I do like that the ash remains, and the little piece of story trying to show though the destruction. 6 |
