I like the subtle variations in the greys and whites. There is a strong tie to the story. I can almost feel the chill from the rain. 7

Not a clear tie to the book, except for the title. The layout and DOF are nice, and the tones very realistic, but it doesn't wow me. 5

I like the colors and soft feel to this, but it may be a tad too soft. The plants covering her chin distract a little. 6

I can kind of feel the tie to the story on this one but it may be a bit of a stretch. I like the rays of light though the trees and water fall. The plants in the foreground might be a tad over processed, especially in the light on the left. 6

An grab at an interpretation I think, but none the less I really like this. The minimalism, grain and colors all play well. 7

Not really a tie to the book, other than the title. Quite a nice shot otherwise. The layered blues and impending storm work well together, and play on the obvious cold. Would have rated it higher in a different challenge. 6

Pretty spectacular! I really like he motion in the blowing snow and clouds, and deep contrast in the sky. Having only read the synopsis, the tie to the story is not great but it is there. 8

A stark mood, that seems appropriate for the story. Black and white, right and wrong. The religious statue and church like building are pluses. Not sure I'm ready to call it a classic, but I didn't mark it down for that. 7

Lovely shot, and the tie to the story is strong. The model walking in the rain seemingly blind fits well. The tones are nice and I'm glad it's black and white. Not sure I'm ready to call it a classic, but I didn't mark it down for that. 7

A very nice shot, but the tie to the book is a reach. The sundown reds are quite nice, and the scope as the foreground element works well. Would have scored it higher in a different challenge. 6
