This is a beautiful photo. In a challenge surrounded by so many busy pictures of drill bits, gears and tiny pieces. The simplicity of this is refreshing. The color you’ve selected mimics the color of the iron, as I would envision this to look. I like the soft background, it keeps all the attention on the subject. The gate latch is an unusual style to me, so it holds my interest. It reminds me of the entrance to an old 18th century cemetery or something. It is enchanting and has me wanting to know more about what is beyond the gate. Nicely done.

This is my favorite of the challenge! Beautiful coloring and amazing DOF for such a dark hallway. This reminds me of the closing scene of an old movie. I like the symmetry. You have been bold enough to center your subject and this is a good example of the correct way to break the rule of thirds. Great work!

Not To Feel Blue When I Get Bad Comments

You won't get any "bad" comments on this one!
- First reaction; That is so cool with the perfect tree surrounded by water. Where on earth did you find that....
With a little closer look, I see it's not water at all. I love the surreal feel of this one. The picture is stellar in every way. It is, however, much less direct at communicating a "resolution" and will rely heavily on the title to convey the affiliation. That takes nothing away from the picture, but it could cost you some points. Beautiful work!

Speechless is a perfect title for this entry. I am surprised to see so many of this type of picture in the challenge, but this is one of my top 3 over-all. I love the dirty grease look of it and the position is good. I don't know if the red panel on the left side is adding much to the over-all shot for me. I might have cropped it out and presented a vertical composition without the tilted line. It might help simplify the shot and keep all the attention on the subject. I don't think one can truely appreciate a "faces shot" until they actually take the time to hunt for one. It's not at all as easy as it sounds, is it. Over-all a great shot for this challenge.

This is one of my top three for this challenge. Beautiful architecture. A few spots in the upper left corner you might clean up. Great shot!

You are my hero Daniel!
Once again, just remarkable work.
I knew this was yours when I saw it in the "Broken" challenge and I had no doubts at all it had the photographic integrity that is consistent with your other work.

I'm glad you continue to dazzle all of us here with your creativity. This is uncommon work and unusual talent for DPC. It is all too often and to easily dismissed as "Photoshopped" and digital art manipulations. My hats off to you for continuing to share your creativity as you do. When even some of the best photographers are fooled by your techniques, it clearly shows your skills.
