Done pumping...by hvellurComment: I'm in love! I don't know what it is about these old gas pumps, but I just like them. The pipe on the left is so perfect and the brown/yellowish sky adds to the feeling of obsolescence. 10 |

OLDsmobileby artvetComment: I love this! Excellent capture. I like the tilt and the color of the car. The grass is just a little bright in the foreground for my taste. You could try burning the shadows some (slight). Other than that, this is one of my favorites of the challenge. 9 |

Oldtimerby nickstyleComment: Very nice! The reflection of additional antiquities adds interest to the shot and keeps it within a time zone. 9 |

25 cents a gallonby pearlseyesComment: OK....where'd you find this one? I love it. I'd love to play with this one a bit. I'd probably give it a little more contrast in the midtones and I might play with the crop a little. You could crop at the first window on the right and land the pump in a stronger visual position using the grass as leadlines from the corner.. Beautiful composition. This is my kind of picture. |

Broken downby gthbComment: Great subject for the obsolete theme. The sky is perfect. The shadows could be opened up a little to bring more detail to the subject. You might try playing with the Highlight/Midtone/shadow settings and getting a feel for how far you can lighten the midtones and shadows without hurting the sky. I hope this was helpful. The shot is pretty good over-all. |

Made in Americaby CoozComment: Hmmmm. I love the picture. I love the bright colors. My only suggestion for improving this shot to my liking would be eliminating the soft focus on the main subject. I think too much attention is being pulled from the "obsolete" subject and drawn into the bright colors of the flag. The picture as a stand-alone shot (without the challenge theme) is much better just as you have it. 9 |
