Dancer in the Doorwayby markwileyComment: its such an interesting image .. in the best sense of the word ..
maybe not that simple .. but its really the test of how much ppl can identify with or appreciate an image .. when you end up top 10 with something that doesnt quite satisfy the challenge ..
i'm glad i saw this photo .. there's so much i can take away from it .. :) |

Fly-byby wildirisComment: yes .. its sometimes so hard to decide which way to go with our edits .. leave that wing in .. or take it out ..
from my perspective i actually like both .. in .. and out ..
they both tell a different 'story' ..
anyhoooo .. something i love about photos of birds in flight is their legs and feet .. the legs stretching out and the feet ..
some feet are cute and endearing .. and some are powerful and mean business .. this .. to me is the latter . !! ..
well caught .. and loving the tones .. :)

LIFEby willemComment: i particularly love how they are almost touching .. gives an emotive quality to this very simple image .. an image that each viewer could take away quite a different story and feeling ..
also i love the simplicity .. something i find very hard to accomplish in my own photos .. :)

and congratulations on the 4th place .. :)
and thanks for the info on the wasps .. i'm always eager to find out more about our little friends in the insect/arachnid/etc world ..
and btw .. when i do a stack i submit all of them to the sc for validation .. but i dont think i've had more than 9 or 10 ..
i'm interested to know whether you'd have to submit all 143 or just a few for sc to get an idea .. ?? ..
and more questions .. lol .. what program do you use to stack .. ?? ..
i used to do everything manually up till only a few months ago .. then i found bracketing on my camera .. talk about a game changer .. :) |
Hi Roz,
Thank you for your comment. I downloaded the images into Lightroom. I export the chosen images as a category to the desktop and then import them into Photoshop where there is a process for photostacking the jpegs using "Scripts-load files into stack then Edit-Auto Blend. The final image is then edited as desired. There are tutorials in You Tube on how to do this. I used an inexpensive photo rail for taking the images although there is an in camera setting for this I have not tried but plan to soon.
I submitted 5 of the stacked images (about 1 every 25 captures) for validation. I think SC can get what they need from this. I will wait to see if they need any more information. |
thanks for all the information Larry .. so interesting ..
i've never used tripods or photo rails .. i honestly don't now how ppl do it when insects can fly away at the drop of a hat .. so hats off to you .. !! .. lol ..
i'll be checking this out when i next do a focus stack .. "Scripts-load files into stack then Edit-Auto Blend." ..
thanks again and have an excellent week .. :) |
