Squirrels. Vicious little creatures, but cute, nonetheless. This one looks like he's ready to go up against you, to get that last peanut of the season. Framing, composition, lighting are all very nice. Focusing is hard on shots like this. Any kind of dynamic focusing is going to end up grabbing the thing that's closest to the camera. In this case, it was the wrong thing. Darn.

Interesting what people's opinions are about this image. I personally think I'd like to see *more* of the right side of the image. The statue leads into the right side of the image nicely. But then I'd like to see more of the living....

I really like love the composition of this the bird in its native habitat, doing his natural birdy stuff. Watch the edge sharpening around the bird. It was the first thing I noticed when I opened the page. The problem is that the body of the bird and the edges of the bird almost always need different amounts of sharpening. What I find myself doing over and over is sharpening the bird a lot, to get the definition in the feathers, then using a mask and black brush to brush back the sharpening around the edges of the bird. The more contrast the bird has with the background, the more necessary this seems to be.

I like it. The shot has a lot of soul (don't know how to explain otherwise). I don't think portraits really need to be all that sharp, but agree, it probably shouldn't be focused on the back wall. I've never had much success taking self portraits with film. It always takes me too many shots to get everything set correctly.

Beautiful. I love the lines, and how the tracks lead the eye through the entire image. The one thing I might suggest is to try making the shiny tops of the rails just a smidge brighter, and see how that looks. It might be better, it might not, and you probably already tried it....

This is darling. The white background and chair is pretty much the only thing that would've worked, I think, given the costume.

I like the pattern you've set up with the people on the different floors of the building. I spent a lot of time looking at the different people in the image, and noticing what they were doing. I'm wondering if it might have been better if you had taken it a step further to the right. The odd angle on the left doesn't really add anything to the image for me.

It really is a good start at dark field lighting. I think you have the basics of the technique. Now I think it would be time to start experimenting, with different lighting angles, and different amounts of light. To me, it looks a little dark, and the back of the bowl seems to blend into the background.

It's a great capture. I like v2 better, it gives more of a feel of the bird within its environment.
