Mum's old Glass Cabinet, and Clockby GrandadComment: I am sure there is a rich wood grain to this fine family heirloom, but your perspective does not highlight that feature. As is, it looks like a snap shot for insurance purposes. I am no expert, but many comments to me have stated..."walk around your subject" "focus on an aspect you want the viewer to see" "shoot as many shots as possible" "set up different arrangements". That said, I don't want to seem "all knowing" - rather just to "pay it forward" from what I have learned. Good luck in the challenge :) |

Dream...An Odd Awakening by Gaby_GComment: There is so much that competes within this image - I don't know where to look first. The only grounded element is the back of the model - which offers no disorder. |

The cats on the tableby StagoleeComment: It's a great atmosphere and I like how the light shines through. Photo seems too dark, but not enough to vote down. Wall molding at the curtain edge looks like another table leg, and the potpourri isn't needed in the shot. |

Vintageby hahn23Comment: Lovely photo - reminds of the Chautauqua Institute in New York. I wonder if a tighter crop would serve the challenge better and getting rid of the jacket on the chair back (it's distracting). I love the shadow on the porch! I can feel the warmth of the day. I hope you place well. 7 |

Old Charm Dresserby rosiehallComment: There seems to be a beautiful wood grain to work with and I wish the focus was on that...especially the bottom portion. As is, the crop leaves off the right cabinet foot (I don't think this is a dresser). Other distractions on the lower right, left curtains and background wall items could have been left out. You have a nice piece of furniture though...5 |

Wickerby sherpetComment: The simplicity adds to the appeal for this entry because you offer many layers of interest from foreground to background - light and shade - focus to blur - various patterns without becoming busy. While am hardly the paragon of ribbon contenders - my best to you! 10 |
