Unattachedby nozlComment: The flower in the lower right corner was a good choice. It gives the eye somewhere to rest. Overall the image is a little flat so maybe a little more contrast would help. |

Fresh Iceby TraumaHoundComment: This might have been a little monotonous without the blue lettering so I like having that in the shot. Possibly a little tighter crop on the right side just to the edge of the freezer (or whatever it is) would improve it a little. |

Long Time Idleby aliquiComment: Well done. The leaf is just a tiny bit overexposed but to change that there would be trade of and I think the trade off wold make the dark areas too dark or make the image a little too flat overall. So it works well the way it is. I like the b/w choice. Perhaps if the leaf was red and there were no other reds in the shot then adjustment of the luminance in the reds would bring the leaf down slightly on brightness? The dof is right on here. Good job. |

Crackedby colorcarnivalComment: This is probably the best of the shots with tree rings. Good composition, lighting, and processing. I like the choice to make it b/w. |

It's all about my nose!by maggiedddComment: Yes it is and a cute one at that. Since it's about the nose, the shallow dof works good to take attention away from those very awesome eyes. |

3 Types of Water Textureby denboteComment: Cool capture. The diagonals add interest and the different textures on the water are neat. Possibly just a little more room on the top somehow to see more of that texture. |

drenched in colorby kiml3erly1Comment: This would work well with an increased dof since the challenge is about texture. I do like the colors and there is some interesting texture going on but seeing more of it would work better in my opinion. |

Yum Yumby keriboiComment: Maybe for a texture shot if you moved in and composed more on the urchins or whatever they are in the hands As for technical it looks a little flat so maybe a little increase in contrast or curves. Kind of a cool shot though |

Tree ringsby Jelena73Comment: This shot isn't bad and it fits the challenge but it doesn't hold me as an intriguing image. Maybe if you move in and got the bark on this tree? However there are other shots like that so maybe not. From your title I'm assuming you intend the rings to be the subject however it is the human tendency to look first at the brightest or most in focus portion of an image and the bark is where my eye keeps going. |
