love the coloring on this one. would have been a 10 if cropped more interestingly. try cropping so that the dark green leaves on the top are close to the right of the frame (without adding any more space to the right). this would give you a unique aspect ratio, maybe almost a portrait instead of landscape orientation.

I'm not sure how I like the selective focus being so far on the left of the frame (my eyes are drawn to the black keys, and the only one in focus is the one on the left). Interesting composition otherwise, though. a 7 for now.

I would have liked to have seen the horn player in the frame by himself. that would have been a killer shot, with that lighting!

certainly meets the challenge of high contrast (you've done it nicely). would have been a winner if the composition was a little more interesting, though. IMO, it's too centered in the frame. get creative and shoot this subject for about 50 frames, trying all different angles. I bet you come up with one that just pops.

besides the pumped up contrast that is overdone, this shot had potential. Cropping tighter on these shots is always good (get ride of the partial players on the right). Nice angle (it's obvious you were down on the ground, allowing us to see the youngsters' faces). too bad the ref got in the frame.
